Issue number one included letters, poetry, fiction and non-fiction, along with drawings, color photocopies of paintings, and three hand-made pages. We made 100 copies and distributed it to the contributors and sold it in bookstores in New York City.
Hootenanny #3 & #4 were made available in limited editions of 200 copies in New York City at the Guggenheim Museum Bookstore (Uptown and Soho), the Whitney Museum of American Art Bookstore, and St Mark’s; in Pittsburgh at the Carnegie Museum Stores, in Syracuse, NY at Borders, in Boston at Waterstone Books, and at La Hune in Paris, France.
Hootenanny manifested itself live and in public, at the legendary now defunct rock and roll club CBGB’s.
